Mechanical System: When the tong is on the ingot the ratchet turn of 90° and the levers

open. As soon the tong starts to raise, the ingot is clamped between its inner and outer jaw

Electrohydraulic System: Tongs operate mechanically in opening step. During the closing step, a cylinder fed by a minipowerpack exerts pressure that allows for a soft closing of the joints.
